Sedu 1 1/2'; questions. folica.com?
okay so i am looking for a new straightner because my old one broke. i looked at all the reviews on folica and it seems to me the sedu is the best. what do you think about sedu?? its expensive, so i want to make sure itll work really well. i have medium-thick hair and its wavy (i have ringlets) and the 1 1/2 is best rated so, i was wondering do the 1'; models work the same? i dont know how much id use it to curl but i like to think id have that option. how good is folica? The Sedu is expensive, but definitely worth it. I have both the 1 1/2 inch and the Sedu Revolution and I love them both dearly. In my experience Sedu is definitely the best and everyone I use it on loves the flat iron! The Sedu works on all types of hair, and it will work on your beautiful thick ringlets as well. The 1 inch model performs the same, and in my opinion is actually better. The smaller plates mean more consistent heating, meaning better, quicker results. But both work very well. So my sister almost cussed me out this morning...for no reason..?
It was the stupidest fight ...one that has been going on for a long time...its stupid let me tell you
kind of complicated but we just got new furniture for each of our room wich includes a dresser with a mirror and hers isnt set up yet (the mirror ) but mine is...and we got them to do our hair in our room instead of the bath room since we have issues about it since we are 15 and 16 and yeah..anyway i havent rigged up how im going to do the plug in thing for my curling iron and straightner so im planning on doing that tonight, but since then my sister is like why dont you use your mirror in your room instead of the bathroom??
im like i havent rigged it up yet and i have bad lighting..so i cant use it yet!
and so then she got all mad and she was like fixing to cuss me out and (we are like good girls, we dont cuss ever...and yeah it got to that extent) and so i was like jeesh you could you the other bathroom, i was here first, and any way you arent using it right now! and so she stormed off to her room after her shower, and so i was almost done with my hair and she came into the bathroom and was all mad and everything and i was like here im almost done and you can have the bathroom...and she was like i dont (she almost said the f word) care and she was like fixing to majorly cuss me out and she left and so now after school i came home and she was in the kitchen (she has a different schedule than i do at school) and i said hello...being nice...
and she just walked out of the kitchen...
im like wtf?
whats wrong with her???
idk if she just thinks our parents are always on my side all the time or something? which most of the time it is because shes so immature and has obeying issues lol
and im the younger one!!!!

There's no talking to a stubborn mind because they'll just blow everything you have to say off, so go to your mom or dad, talk to them in private, or you could, calmly, talk to your sister because getting angry at her would just cause one heck of a fight...and there might be something going on that no one knows about yet. Something embarrassing or painful that she hasn't told anyone and even if she talks to mom or dad that doesn't mean she tells them everything.

you have to get a small straightener and twist it around your hair jus like a curling iron but honestly a cruling iron is jus plain easier and it wont look the same because your hair is shorter

i have a year 6 farewell tomorow for graduation from primary and i want to straighten my hair.i have a straightening shampoo and conditioner and i tried it but my hair didnt get straight and my hair is naturally wavy.i havent got a blow drying or a straightner or flat iron and i have no time for shopping or going to the salon or hair dressers.i have a curling iron and i heard you can straighten your hair with it so i tried it and my hair went super straight and then 5 minutes later it went curly again.anyone know how i can last it for much longer?also for the dance for getting ready can you tell me what i should do firs and stuff like a timestabe like should i put eyeliner first it lipstick first?

How do you create beachy curls with a sea salt spray....?
ive brought 3 different sea salt sprays that are suppose to make your hair beachy beacuse i have fairly straight hair since i straighten it all the time. When i let my hair air dry or when i use a diffuser once ive sprayed with the sea salt spray, my hair goes frizzy.

The seasalt spray is drying out your hair - to get the same effect without the damage try using a leave in conditoner spray, then a spritz of hairspray for hold :]

ok so being a baller that i am, i decide to try straigtening my hair with a curling iron.(i dont have a straightner).....so umm should i have used heat spray.... i didnt starighten it for very long and my hair dosent feel fryed. Will my hair be ok?

Your okay you only did it once. Your gonna want to use a silicone free heat protectant when you blow dry your hair so its in there when you go to flat iron it. Spend the 20 bucks and get a flat iron. They all do the same thing. Some just cost more. I could never get the back of my hair either but I luckily am a hair stylist and work in a salon so what I did was and had great results was, I had my hair Bio Ionic Straightened. It's like a 2 hour process costs about $250 if you don't know anybody in the industry. It came out great. I just blow dry it and it is perfectly straight everyday. Good Luck!

repetitive hair straightning with any tool is bad for your hair, it could cause long term damage!
Of course you should have use it. It protects your hair from being damaged from the heat - huge plus, there. Since you haven't straighten your hair in a while, you will be fine. :)
To do the back of your hair, set up a mirror in front of a bigger mirror so that you can look into the mirror in front of you, and view the back of your head in the bigger mirror, and get the back good.
I'm sure your hair will be fine once it gets over the irony.
As for the back, maybe use two mirrors so you can see where you're straightening?
Haha yeah, I used to do that too...flat irons work sooo much better though; they're worth the money. Your hair will be fine...do use a heat protecting spray...and just feel your way around the back and check your results with a mirror held up to another mirror (so you can see the back of your head)

you can use that Tresseme' thermal spray before you straighten your hair it works good. does the curling iron have different heat settings?? if so, then just put it sort of a little beneath the middle and if that isn't hot enough to straighten a piece then just turn it up a little more. you don't want it on too high, although it straightens it very well, your hair will eventually get fried! and you just section the back and you could clip it up after straightening each piece starting with the top and working your way to the bottom =)

Is there any way to make my hair like that without curling it or a perm? And no gel either?
Like when I get out of the shower, I use mousse and scrunch my hair, and its really pretty, but then it sort of falls limp and goes poofy when it dries...
I don't like using that much hairspray, and I've been using my straightner less so my hair won't be that damaged and poofy because I used to straighten it everyday.
Also, my scalp gets really itchy FAST, so I got a tip from someone that says rinse your hair with cold water after you condition and shampoo it, and it makes it shiny when it dries, and softer and makes your hair follicle seal close, so no polution gets in it.
It's been working good so far, and it's not that itchy anymore, but everytime my wind blows in the wind, my hair gets dirty...

Permanent Hair Straightening?
I have relatively curly hair. If I brush it out it will be wavy, or I can crinkle it up when it’s wet so when it dries it’s full of big curls. I use a straightner because though I like my curly hair- I love straight hair. I feel that it looks better and it’s easier to brush and manage. My only issue is that by the end of the day I get these little waves in it and “fly-aways” where pieces start to get a mind of their own and try to curl up. Especially in summer with all the humidity in the air. My hair looks terrible when it comes in contact with water and if I’m ever out on a rainy day I freak out! I would love to be able to just get a little wet and not have to worry about my hair rising up. I’m contemplating a permanently straightening my hair at a salon. Where can you get this done? The only places I have that do hair is Walmart and Super-cuts. Haha. Will either of these places do what I want or will I need to look elsewhere? I know there is something about a relaxer vs the other sort of straightening that is permanent. Anyone get any of these done? How long does it last? How much does it cost? After the 1st few days (when you cant wash it) Can you go into the water (the beach or misty rain) and have your hair stay straight? there is nothing that can make your hair grow faster no matter what anyone tells you. It just takes time. hair grows about 1/2 inch a month. sorry i know it's not what you want to hear!!!!
my hair stylist said to drop some stress like stressing over guys or exs and she said for that to happen to turn off my fone at 9 or wen i come home and not turning it on till im gettin ready the next day and that actually did help with stress but i still need my hair to grow back (because i like styling my hair i usually style it everyday) and that's another thing she said cut it out of my week or cut it down but wit my hair going away i feel like i gotta style it so no one will notice and the only one that has notice is this girl that i grew up wit becuase i said idk how to get rid of it!

well if you want the wet crunchy curl you would want to start doing your hair right out of the shower.. towel dry it then put a lot of mousse in you hair then fill it up side down and crunch it with your fingers. while still adding mousse. then when start spraying a spirits hair spray in your hair upside down also. then flip up and keep crunching then add just a little bit of red kin gel in your hands and add some to your hair. then add spirits hair spray to your air and then let it air dry it should stay that way the whole day... that's what i use to do when i was younger and wanted to have that wet look... hope it work's for youI need help with curling and straighting?

Eyeliner- for bottom with one hand hold down the area under the eye slighty and have ur mouth open (this prevents blinking during application) and when applying eyeliner use feather strokes dont just hold it down and draw across, if u lightly use feather strokes it makes for a more even application. Eye lid, Close your eye and with one finger stretch the eye lid out so it's flat, applying in the same way as the bottom lashes, when u get to the edge apply outwards and up, making it a bit more thicker than the rest of the line. Practice for a while until u get the hang of it.
Hair- use ur straightener and wrap ur hair around in the same way as u wud use curling tongs. Its worked for me in the past when i've wanted to add wave to my hair.

take the section that you want to curl, and put the iron about 3/4 of the way up the section. wrap the section around the iron, and as you pull the iron down, keep twisting the iron.
i do this all the time at the salon and curls come out beatifully.
it's going to take some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it will be easy.

take the section that you want to curl, and put the iron about 3/4 of the way up the section. wrap the section around the iron, and as you pull the iron down, keep twisting the iron.
i do this all the time at the salon and curls come out beatifully.
it's going to take some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it will be easy.

use curlers! my hair is about to my shoulders, its an a line cut but itsnot too dramatic! i love having volume and i love curling my hair but my hair is so thick that it takes FOREVER with a curling iron/straightner.

Ya thats good, you can curl it. If your just trying to get volume, try sprying your hair with volume promoting hairspray and then braid it and sleep on it or leave it in for a few hours atleast. I hope I helped!

i think you're hair is probably long enough but i would suggest doing more ringlet like curls rather than twirls. A really nice style that a lot of people wear a lot (including myself) is when you seperate the two closest bits of hair at either side of your face and pull then back. Brush them so they are neat and tie a bobble or clip at the back of your head so they are sort of dragged back. You can have it loose or tight, either way it looks really nice. Good luck!
A friend of mine cut her hair pretty short..about shoulder length so I imagine your hair is as about her length...anyways her hair is pretty thick too but she uses the heat rollers all the time you just need enough of then and put small amount of hairs intot eh rollers...be patient...it actually looks really nice..just make sure not to keep them in to long yes curls gives you volume but if the curls are to curly..since your hair is short your hair will lokk really really short..it does look pretty though once you're done..BTW Electric heat rollers work best Good Luck Hun!

I think your hair is the perfect length for hot rollers. I use them everyday and so does my roommate. My hair is a bit longer, but her hair is just above her shoulders and it looks great when she curls it. It may look a bit ';poofy'; when you take the rollers out, but don't be discouraged or try to flatten it. Once you go outside it will fall a bit and look great! Try it on a day that you're not doing anything and see if you like it. Hope this helps!
by the way, i would use the medium rollers near the top of the head to give it shape, and big rollers on the bottom so it doesn't take away much length...
If your hair is really thick and course, the hot curlers won't give you the curl you want for a long period. You might want to have your hair thinned out at a salon and get a body perm, this will take some of the thickness out then you can use gel, let it dry natural, lightly comb it and then use a stiff hairspray. Or you can use regular rollers (dry it part way) and curl it or it will take forever to dry...I use to do it on my hair that is long, thick and like a sponge when water hits it. If you use a curling iron try blow drying your hair part of the way before you curl it, this way it should curl better with a little moisture in it and spray each curl with hairspray as you curl it then afterward. You just section your hair like you would if you were straightening it... and take little 1-2 inch pieces. Then take the straightener and place it near the root. Clamp it so its like, horizontal...and then rotate the straightener one half turn (or one full turn) downwards. Then glide the iron down all the way to the bottom. After the hair is released, twirl the hair so you get a more defined curl. Then with the next piece of hair, do the same however this time you could rotate it upwards. Alternate between turning the iron in the two different directions so that when the curls are done they don't all clump together lol :) Also... the slower you pull the straighener the more defined the curls will be.
Sorry if that was confusing... which is quite likely. So watching youtube videos will help more :P The GHD ones are good :)

I was thinking of buying a CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1 inch Original Farouk Hair Straightener. It say that u can curl and flip your hair too. I was wondering if that is true and if anybody has tried doing that and how it worked out. so please let me know thanks

well my boyfriends sister had a chi, and it didn't straighten my hair very well... i was unhappy w/ the results. as for the flipping thing... i recommend the mini maxi glide... its awesome... and the regular maxi glide... when you first use it its kinda complicated... and you have to get used to it... but once you do its awesome!

It doesn't matter if it's a herstyler or not, just as long as it's a hair straightner which can make your hair curl. I already know how to do the ';happy curls'; as they call it on their website, but I'm trying to make waves that are big and with volume, not tight little curls.

My grad pictures are tommorow and I wanted to curl my hair. But I don't own a curling iron. So, I was wondering if you could curl your hair with a straightner. How could you do it to get the best results? My straightner heats up to 200 and is designed by Innovia if it helps. Answers are apreciated!Curling Hair with a Straightener???

i can do it!!! i have ghd's and they go up to 210 its not that much difference! hold a piece of hair out to the side, hold the straightners at the topa a nd slowly start to slide them down your hair at the same time twist the tongs inwards to your haed keep twisting an movind down. its simple really once you no how!!

ugh! im with you girl, my hair does not do the curling iron at all. what u should do is, shower in the morning, then partially blow-dry upside-down while crunching your hair. (do not brush out your hair!!) then, use a curl defining product, and dry some more. when almost dry, you crunch the curls so that it's exactly where you want them, and hairspray them in place. good luck, and extra hold hairspray works best!!ie

it depends on your hair texture. but saying you can't get it to curl, i assume it's strait. i have frizzy, wavy hair naturally but straiten all the time. when i have a formal event i usually curl it with a straitner because it makes pretty waves. so to get the waves, i straiten my hair first, then i take the straitner, starting from the top and slowly start to twist it, the straitner pointed up. when i finish and its still hot, i spray the strand with hair spray, then repeat. do each strand and you'll have pretty waves:D it also helps to have a straitner no bigger than 1';

They might mean you are able to use it by alternating the wand back wards and forewards creating a wave not really a curl.

you have to have a skinny straightner to do this:
wrap a strand of hair around one of the ceramic plates on your straighener, then close it and hold for about 10 secs.

well. u place the straightener just below your roots and curl AWAY
from your face about 180 degrees then pull it down. and unclamp :) it takes a while to get the hang of it but amazing results!!

Hi.. i have long hair and its quite wavy so i straighten it, but i would like to know, how do you actually curl your hair with these straightners? i went to the hairdressers a couple months back, and they did it really well, my hair was really curly and they lasted, they curled it with the original ghds's, i just brought some last week and iv been trying to curl my hair, but just dont know how to, the only reason i brought the originals was so i could curl my hair, ive already had the thick plated ghd's for 2 years.... help!!How do you curl your hair with GHD straightner??

Then, you need to pull each section of hair through the straighteners while twisting the straighteners around in a spiral motion as you go down. As you get near the last say...3 inches of hair in the section - really twist it round quite tightly so the hair is wrapped around the whole straightener hold it for a couple of seconds and then release the straightener from your hair.
Then, to define the curl twirl your index finger around it from the root down to the end and then spray some hairspray in it to give it some hold.
Hope that makes sense!!!

if you look in the book that comes with the GHDs, there is a GHD website which gives styling tips!the website shows a video with instructions, showing you how to curl your hair!!!its really good and easy to follow!!!
