How do you make waves with the Herstyler?

It doesn't matter if it's a herstyler or not, just as long as it's a hair straightner which can make your hair curl. I already know how to do the ';happy curls'; as they call it on their website, but I'm trying to make waves that are big and with volume, not tight little curls.



PS. I do not understand the Herstyler website's direction for fancy waves so please do not copy their instructions as an ';answer'; because it won't help. Well here's an excerpt:



Fancy waves 鈥?Take a large section of hair, slide it from the roots to half way, and then press the ceramic plates over the section in a twisting motion while sliding to the ends.
